Common Standards
Description
Standards is a collection of tools that are useful to BIM managers for monitoring and maintaining standards adherance for the organization. Common Standards are organization specific standards that apply to both projects and families.
Configuring Common Standards
Master Shared Parameters
If your organization has a primary managed set of Shared Parameters for Revit, you can upload it here. It will be used for various features within standards such as family checking.
Once uploaded, subsequent uploads will replace versions previously uploaded.
Take care to ensure the file is properly formatted.
Parameter Grouping
When a shared parameter is uploaded, the groups within it will be shown in the interface. To establish valid parameter groups to be used with standards, select it from the left tree and use the arrow to add it to the right.
To remove the groups from the left, select it and click the X below the arrow.
NOTE: this interface does not alter the shared parameter file. Editing of the file must be done on a downloaded copy and uploaded again to update it.
Parameter Name Rule
- Valid Parameter Name Parts: put valid parts of names that should be used when naming parameters. ie. ARCH E_ LC-
- Invalid Parameter Name Parts: combinations of letters and symbols of names that should not appear in parameter names.
