Introduction to Project & Family Upgrader from the BIM Batch Suite

February 20 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CST

Typically when users move to a newer version of Revit® it is highly desirable to upgrade their family libraries to the new version. This usually happens about once per year. It can also be desirable to upgrade projects and all of the dependent links to the new version as well. In both cases this process can be extremely time consuming and tedious. Projects often have to be handled manually because there can be unforeseen steps, and the Autodesk script for family upgrades rarely is successful for more than 50 families.

The Projects & Families Upgrader from CTC Software can help automate this process, saving time and frustration when upgrades are necessary. This webinar will discuss the workflow and options that you can leverage to make your upgrade process as streamlined and as fast as possible.

Learning Objectives:

  • Accessing Project & Family Upgrader
  • Exploring the user interface
  • Planning project and link upgrades
  • Acquiring the software

March 2020

Introduction to Revision Manager from the BIM Project Suite

March 26 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CDT

Revit’s Revision system can work fairly well when clouds are used. However, try to associate a revision to a sheet or series of sheets without the existence of a cloud on that sheet, and now things become somewhat more tedious. Try to get a report of all revisions on all sheets, and now we’ve reached the impossible in native Revit . This webinar will demonstrate how revisions can be more efficiently managed in a Revit project, how Revision reports can be obtained and by using another BIM Project Suite tool, how they can be represented efficiently on a cover sheet.

  • Accessing Revision Manager
  • Introduction to Interface
  • Easily Update Sheet Revisions

Introduction to Detail Link from the BIM Project Suite

April 14 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CDT

All too frequently we still get drawings from manufacturers in DWG or DGN format. These may need to be linked to drafting views in our Revit project models. Or, perhaps your firm is in the process of migrating your standards from AutoCAD into Revit, and there are many details that need to be ‘Revitized’. Both of these processes are time consuming, and frequently done in different ways by different people. Standardizing and automating this process can save days of frustration. This webinar will demonstrate how this free tool on the BIM Project Suite can eliminate this very manual linking process.

  • Detail Link
  • Introduction to Interface
  • Efficiently Link DWGs to Detail Views

Introduction to Revision Cloud Remover from the BIM Manager Suite

April 28 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CDT

At the completion of a project, sometimes we need to remove all revision clouds from the construction/design model in preparation for delivering the as-built model. Sometimes we have the need to take a completed project and use it as a base for a remodel. In these cases, we need to efficiently strip all revision clouds and revisions from the model. This webinar will demonstration how the Revision Cloud Remover on the BIM Manager Suite can streamline this process.

Projects get bloated and this bloating can cause errors to manifest causing project model crashing. Additionally, on delivery of a model, we often need to clean out any unneeded content. The problem we all run into is lack of time to consistently execute on project cleaning. We wait until it is necessary, which is often at inconvenient times. This webinar will demonstrate the Project Processor on the BIM Batch Suite, showing how we can establish rules that can automate the cleanup process, saving both BIM Managers and Revit users tons of time.
