Introduction to View Creator from the BIM Project Suite

September 11, 2019 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CDT

Generating view in project setup can be a pain, but is necessary on nearly every project. This is especially true when dependant floor plans are necessary. This of course seems like it is more and more often. Other view management tasks like level or phase specific schedule creation are also tedious and happen throughout the project lifecycle. This webinar will demonstrate how View Creator can help minimize the tedium and standardize the creation and management of many view types.

Introduction to Renumbering from the BIM Project Suite

September 18, 2019 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CDT

Anytime a renumbering of rooms, doors and views needs to happen, we all grumble a bit. It is not a fun task and is often filled with frustration. The free Renumbering tool from CTC Software can help eliminate the frustration and make renumbering many things a simple task where users only have to decide order of renumbering, but do not need to participate in mindless data entry for multiple views or elements in the model. Find out how renumbering tasks can be streamlined with a free tool in this webinar.

  • Accessing Renumbering
  • Introduction to Interface
  • Executing Renumbering Processes
  • How to Obtain the Suite

October 2019

Introduction to Dimension Checker from the BIM Manager Suite

October 2, 2019 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CDT

Discovering dimension override issues in models can be tricky. Sadly, there is no native way in the Revit interface to identify all dimension that have overrides. Also, there are some pretty dirty techniques that can be used to generate dimension overrides for construction documentation that can cause some significant coordination errors between the model and the documentation. This webinar will demonstrate how these issues can be discovered so responsible (or irresponsible) parties can be made aware of the issues and work to repair them.

  • Accessing Dimension Checker
  • Introduction to Interface
  • Discovery of Dimension Overrides

Introduction to Family Exporter from the BIM Batch Suite

October 16, 2019 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CDT

Unfortunately the default capabilities in native Revit allowing saving of families out of a Revit project model are basic and unfriendly. This CTC Software webinar will demonstrate how leveraging the free Family Exporter enables saving families out of a project easily and results in organized exports. No longer will families have to be saved one by one, or result in all families dumped into a single unorganized folder. Now you have control in an elegant tool that saves you time and frustration.

November 14, 2019 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CST

Traditionally, running building code calcs are a manual process and one that happens outside of the Revit environment. Information from the model is needed for the calcs, and the resulting info is needed in the model. This two part webinar series will highlight a process that uses a couple of tools from the CTC Express Tools product line to calculate occupants, egress data, and plumbing fixture data and present that information directly in the Revit model with links to update when the building changes.

Learning Objectives:

  • Use Spreadsheet Link to calculate Occupancy Data
  • Use Spreadsheet Link to calculate Egress Requirements
  • Use Spreadsheet Link to calculate Plumbing Fixtures
  • Use Occupancy Flow Analyzer to Validate the Calcs from Excel

Introduction to Quick Select from the BIM Project Suite

January 15 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CST

Sometimes selecting elements in the model can be frustrating. Revit, sadly, doesn’t allow you to select elements based on their instance properties. It only allows selecting all instances of a certain type. What if you need to filter selections down by some parameter like level association or height or offset? This selection process can be tedious without tools to assist. This webinar will demonstrate a free tool to assist you in this exact process, making it easier than ever before.

Making Your Families Healthy

January 16 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CST

It can be very difficult and time-consuming to validate the quality and functionality of Revit® family files when they come from different sources. Having inconsistent families that were created to different standards causes frequent issues in projects. Join ATG Technical Specialist Quentin Worm as he shows you how to very quickly analyze many aspects of entire libraries of Revit family files using CTC Express Tools™ to discover where the issues lie in your libraries.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how to navigate and conduct a family check
  • Learn about the different checklists created

February 2020

Introduction to Project & Family Upgrader from the BIM Batch Suite

February 20 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CST

Typically when users move to a newer version of Revit® it is highly desirable to upgrade their family libraries to the new version. This usually happens about once per year. It can also be desirable to upgrade projects and all of the dependent links to the new version as well. In both cases this process can be extremely time consuming and tedious. Projects often have to be handled manually because there can be unforeseen steps, and the Autodesk script for family upgrades rarely is successful for more than 50 families.

The Projects & Families Upgrader from CTC Software can help automate this process, saving time and frustration when upgrades are necessary. This webinar will discuss the workflow and options that you can leverage to make your upgrade process as streamlined and as fast as possible.

Learning Objectives:

  • Accessing Project & Family Upgrader
  • Exploring the user interface
  • Planning project and link upgrades
  • Acquiring the software
